The Unknown: The Red Line.
n the early stages, you call your answering machine, even though it’s too late to return any calls, hoping to hear her voice, so that you can now begin agonizing over being unable to return the call, how the agony seems so profound, how—in truth—it is profound, how love is the greatest narrative, how sad it is that we too often let the profound become lost, how we forget the giddiness of sharing the stories of our “irrational” behavior concerning our soon-to-be (i.e. professed, finally) loved one, how that giddiness in metafiction fuels the erotics, the longing, the desperate pull toward a body too recently, reluctantly, abandoned.

But that’s not all.
