Duchamp: “There is no solution, because there is no problem.”

At last, my second revelation: become blind and lose the ability to see what blinded you. Lose the map used to arrive at your present location and risk repeating your journey. Forget the cause of your original anger and suffer the effects of your ignorance.

This all began with not being able to shake it. It has not been shaken for years. No ear survives that could recognize whether the hidden noise is authentic or not. Every description of WHN includes the clue: when shaken. When! When means if, if means never, therefore: when shaken equals never shaken. QED. Marcel explained it himself in The Green Book: “One can look at seeing;/one can’t hear hearing.” Sound will not betray. Only the eye remains an enemy. And the eye defeats itself with its own expectations: predisposed to believe that it is a Duchamp sitting inside the box, the eye sees a Duchamp. And the replica is a Duchamp, a secret Duchamp, the resurrection of one of the lost two originals. When the replica takes the place of the original, the secret of its creation will multiply its mystery.

Marcel would be pleased.
