Replica construction stalled. Various components easy enough to procure, the screws, nuts, brass plates, though the precise thickness of the plates gave me pause. Decided that difference would not be discernible to the naked eye. The most pressing problem: the engraving. While there are innumerable trophy stores and metal-working shops available, how can I explain the nonsense I’ll be asking them to engrave? And would it be safer to do both plates at one place or divide the work between two locations? Probably the former, the fewer people involved the better. Besides a strange request does not become more strange simply by being doubled. I’ll try tomorrow.
