Mayor Guiliani Outlaws Painting, Arrests Artists
The city's decree forbids public expression
Police distribute tickets, impound works, jobs
Now the counterfieters outside the museum
Show lovely protest signs—in oils
{24 artists, chosen by lottery, may pay $25 to
sell their work outside the museum,
as of a law passed March 1st. Of the
many people who sell art on the street, only 14
have even applied for the
lottery, the rest face the police. This is a 24-word lipogram in their
honor }
