In a world of love and death,
it's what you do between your first and last breath,
you are born into this world to live to die,
but between these two days, does anyone hear you cry?
Life as you know it can be hard,
You live in a body that is tattooed and scarred,
You have become a marked man,
for your "hood" and "boyz" you must make a stand,
for them you must stay true,
But ask yourself, if you die, who will miss you?
In a six foot deep grave you will lie,
for a while some may mourn, while others cry,
but soon many will forget,
a distant story will be all that's left to it,
you will become a faded memory,
is this what you dreamt your life would be?
At the end of a party, "homies" might pour out
a little liquor for you,
but I must ask, what the hell will that do?
It surely could never bring you back,
Don't get mad at me, I'm just stating the facts.
Your son will grow up to be a heart-broken man,
He was after all your number one fan,
without a father by his side,
he'll hurt, and might even lose pride,
he'll ask "why does this pain constantly rain on me?"
and someone will say "That's the way life has to be."
Tell me, was this the best vision you had,
does all this grief and pain make you glad?
In a world of love and death,
it's what you do between your first and last breath,
you are born into this world to live to die,
but between these two days, does anyone hear you cry?
It is time for you to stop living so fast,
It is time for you to let go of the past,
let love seep into your dark heart
today begin live with a new start, because this world is full of love
and death,
you must decide what you'll do before your last breath,
you are born to die,
but that does not mean for you anyone will cry!
