A Masterpiece Original

Craig Bradley

Is there anyone out there who will hear the words I speak?
Anyone out there whose anguish is as deep?
With words I’ll paint a picture my hands could never draw,
A masterpiece original unlike the world has ever saw.
No strokes to put on canvas, no brushes of any kind,
The only colors needed are the ones within my mind.
What color should I use, as my hopes and dreams have fled?
They all came to a sudden stop, I guess that must be red.
What color should I use, as my life is just not right?
I’ll bet it’s not a yellow, or nothing half as bright.
What color should I use when I’m living as I do?
So many times I’m down, I guess that must be blue.
Look upon your life then paint your picture too,
Use the colors in your mind, it’s not that hard to do.
A mixing in our minds of our colors and out strife,
It’s a masterpiece original, a portrait of a life.
