The Border & A Young Man in the Know: two stories by Regis Debray. Translated by Helen R. Lane. 1968. At this Georgia sky the color of a bleeding night. Possibly this is a awkward translation, I can't imagine the language was supposed to be this clunky. The Border, a story of racism in Georgia (written in French), fortunately, seems dated. The insidious A Young Man in the Know, painfully, does not. Assign this one to your English 101 class. This is social commentary but I wouldn't call it revolutionary. |
